A growing number of people in our community are running out of food and cannot afford to buy more. Many of these are single parents, low income families, the elderly, the unemployed, those with disabilities or mental illness, those with alcohol or other drug addictions and the homeless. The demand for food assistance is higher than the supply and people are being turned away empty handed. We cannot allow this to continue.
The Albury Wodonga Regional FoodShare is a collaborative service that addresses food insecurity among people experiencing hardship in our region.

We Rescue Food

We rescue food on a mass scale by operating a first class warehouse in Wodonga that receives, sorts, stores and distributes rescued food in volumes never before possible in our region. With the help of a growing team of volunteers, we collect and distribute over food equating to 1.3 million meals each year.

We Share Food

We share rescued food and meals across over 90 welfare agencies, 21 schools and 8 neighbourhood centres in the Albury Wodonga Region to give to people that would otherwise go hungry e.g. Uniting Care Wodonga, CareVan, Salvation Army, St Vincent de Paul, St David’s Care, Corryong FoodBank, Mirambeena Meals Program etc.

We Empower People

We empower people to make their own way out of poverty through education, training and employment programs and we ensure sufficient, affordable and culturally appropriate nutritious food is available to all.
We also increase public awareness of food security and enable people to get involved through volunteering, partnerships and donations.
