Foundation Scholarship
 
 
 
For the last 16 years, the Rotary Club of Albury has conducted the ‘Murray Darling School of Freshwater Research’ for year 10 students from the Murray Darling catchment area. The school has hosted up to 50 students each year, with the assistance of CSU and La Trobe Universities, giving the students valuable experience, working and studying with scientists and undergraduates (as mentors). This demonstrates the passion the Albury Rotary Club has towards this scientific field.
In 2002, the Rotary Club of Albury Foundation Trust made available $30,000.00 as an enduring Scholarship to CSU for students who show a desire to work in the Environmental field. The criteria is
 
OPEN TO: Any year             CAMPUS: Albury     VALUE: $2,500.00 - $3,000.00
TENURE: One year              ELIGIBILITY: Any Environmental Science                      
CONDITIONS:  Applicant to be a resident of the local government areas in the Murray Darling basin. Study in the Albury area is also desirable for the term of the scholarship.
 
Applicant to provide evidence of:
  • Community involvement
  • Achievement
  • Goals and motivation
  • Sound academic record
 
NOTE:  The full value of the Scholarship will be presented to the recipient at the Scholarship ceremony. The recipient must report to the Rotary Club of Albury once Semester 1 grades are released, to inform them of their results, showing that achievement is satisfactory and that enrolment is ongoing. Also, it is desirable that the applicant speaks at a Rotary Club of Albury dinner.
