From President michael

President Michael stepped in as guest speaker tonight and told us about some of the upcoming trips with Martin's Travel Group. Please see the brochure below and contact Martin's if you are interested in heading away for a holiday!
 
Michael also received a thank you from the City of Albury RSL Sub Branch to formally thank the members of the club for our contribution to ANZAC day this year.

In Other news

 
  • Alison reported that Valeria has returned from her Northern Territory safari with the rest of the students from District 9790. She had a fabulous time visiting various places such as Darwin, Litchfield NP, Kakadu NP, Uluru, Kata Tjuta, Kings Canyon and Alice Springs just to name a few.
 
  • Alison also talked about a book she is currently reading called 'Always Home, Always Homesick.' This is a memoir written by Australian author and former Rotary Youth Exchange student, Hannah Kent. It reflects on her time in Iceland and how it shaped her life to become an author.
 
  • Peter talked about the Eden Sanctuary and the work that has been done in conjunction with the Thurgoona Mens Shed to replace their water tank stand. (photos below)
 
  • Michael K and Brett W attended the Salvation Army in Corella St to see the new Table Tennis tables that were bought after the grant received by RC Albury. Some of the attendees are off to the Special Olympics and are very appreciative of the donation. 
 
  • Peter and Michael will attend the scholarship presentation at CSU on Tuesday May 20th.
