Jean Burke said that she attended the Astor Raffle on Friday night and they raised $260.00 and the jackpot didn’t go off, the total will go up to $1,250.00.
Karen Perston said that our next meeting will be our Christmas celebration. She has managed to organise a basic Christmas Dinner and Dessert for $35.00 per head. She needs to let the club know numbers by the 13th of December so please email, call or message Jean to let her know if you can attend ASAP.
Charlene has sent out the table the Albury Highschool Journal. As a thank you for the funding from school they have provided a basket of goodies and a card. Possibly raffle it at the Christmas meeting.
Peter said that he has been in regular contact with Deb McMillan discussing support that is needed now and in the future. Peter has also been in Wagga and filling a container that he plans to take on his next trip to Nepal on the 25th of Feb. He is also in contact with Corowa in regards to the container program. He has also put together a list of projects that he will discuss with the Board tonight for an application of Budget allocation.
Bob Walker did an amazing and inspiring speech from an email he received from Gary C.K. Huang who is the Rotary Foundation Trustee Chair 2019-2020. (I have attached a copy for anyone who would like to read it.)
Tracy and Amanda from the Albury Wodonga Sunrise Club came to tell us about their major fundraising project which is a calendar lottery. (More detail to follow from Bob Walker)
Bermann Amon who is our Bursary Recipient of $4000.00 attended and gave a wonderful speech about how he has utilised the money and the benefit it has had on his education. (I have attached a copy for anyone who would like to read it.)
Rotary club of Albury was very proud to induct two new members this evening. Michael Egan and Chris Lewis introduced Michael Kliese and Glen Nagle. Who were warmly welcomed by club members. They were handed their welcome packs and badges by our current President Bryce McNair and Secretary Michael Colegrove. As pointed out by Mike Egan, we are starting out own collection of Mikes and Michaels!
