The Rotary Club of Albury
Chartered 1927

Monday october 6th

Instead of hosting a guest speaker tonight we instead had a Club Assembly style meeting to engage our members in a couple of key areas for the Club including:

Marketing:

Melissa presented on the Club marketing strategy which includes a brochure, social media postings, a flyer, Club signage and a "car bumper" sticker idea. To facilitate member feedback we formed small groups and with a trusty red pen edited the draft brochure to capture different ideas and views from everyone. How do we best promote our Club , what are the projects we need to highlight, what do we do and how can others join our Club. Lots of great suggestions which Melissa welcomed. Hopefully we are successful with our application for a District Ripple Effect grant but regardless the marketing is something our Club has been lacking for some time and will proceed.

Social media marketing:

Tracey Lee has been working in the background doing some updating of our Club webpage, if anyone has been on it lately you will notice a fresh-looking front page, new images and current stories. Tracey talked about Club Runner,  Facebook , our Club webpage, the District webpage and the RI website.
The modern way of communication is via electronic means and to promote what we as a Club do in the community, we need to be onboard with social media, we have members with some degree of experience in these areas so let's use them - Tracey is happy to post photos and stories if you send them to her, and also offered along with Jean to provide tuition if needed to help others better understand the different platforms we can access.

Membership:

Chris spoke briefly about recruiting new members, something we as a Club and most other Clubs must be mindful of because without it our future is in jeopardy.
Unfortunately we ran out of time for Chris to work through a couple of small group exercises, but we will revisit this at the next meeting, all members are encouraged to think about membership, what you want from your Club membership, what ideas you may have on recruiting new members.

Thank you Melissa, Tracey and Chris, it was pleasing to see the enthusiasm and member involvement shown in these topics - lest keep this momentum to deliver great results for the future of the Club.
