Rotary Club of Albury helps out at the City Band event in QE2 Square.

Rotary club of Albury ran a sausage sizzle at the Albury’s City Band’s 150th years of contributing to the life of Albury and surrounding districts.

On Saturday 20th May, Albury City Band took over QEII Square from 11.00am – 4.00pm and, with others bands,
presented music from four stages throughout the day.
The City Band invited the community and visitors to come and celebrate by listening to the musical performances.
Bands included The Army Band, Kapooka; Footscray/Yarraville Brass Band; Canberra Big Band; Monash Concert Band;
The Murray Conservatorium Big Band; and Wodonga Brass.

Donations on the day will be going to the Albury Wodonga Cancer Centre.

8 of our members, cooked nearly 500 sausages for the large crowd.

Our club donated $250.00 on the day, and will discuss if we can donate more at our next board meeting.

We have already donated a large amount to the Cancer centre, but we are always trying to help with the day to day running costs, as much as we can.

Thanks to all the band members that played on the day.
